This year, our focus is on providing you with all the information you need to succeed in the Swedish labour market, teaching you the basics of the administrative stuff related to the Swedish Tax Agency, opening a bank account, helping you decide on your career path, assisting you in writing your first CV (or improving an existing one), training you in how to prepare for job interviews and providing opportunities for you to practise your Swedish language skills. We also offer opportunities for you to get involved in a range of exciting projects, meet new friends from the LGBTQIA community and simply hang out and have fun. At our meetings, you’ll have the chance to connect with a diverse group of young people with unique stories and backgrounds.
Our welcoming and engaging meeting place takes place every other Monday on even weeks between 17-21 and is designed specifically to help you integrate into Swedish society. If you are interested in joining our meetings, please contact us at [email protected]
The Stockholm meeting place activities consist of four different themes:
Our Community Building theme is a perfect opportunity to exchange experiences with other youths and organizations. We organize various activities, including sightseeing and cultural exchanges, to help you build meaningful relationships and feel a sense of community.
Our Young Professionals Program is designed to support your entry process into the Swedish labor market by offering assistance with creating CVs, personal letters and training for job interviews. We also provide valuable information about educational and employment opportunities and invite external lecturers and potential employers to give presentations.
Building Bridges is another theme that offers a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with a wide range of organizations and projects, both profit and nonprofit. We invite other youth groups to participate in our meeting places; topics we cover include activism, health care, support services, sex and relationships, integration and much more.
Lastly, our Storyteller theme is a unique take on the Living Library Method, where you can share your stories and listen to others. We also invite other role models to talk at our meetings about their lives. By sharing experiences, we believe that positive change can happen.
